T - Online Internet Glossary
T-1 - A connection capable of carrying data at 1,544,000 bits-per-second. At maximum theoretical capacity, a T-1 line could move a megabyte in less that 10 seconds. T-1 is the fastest speed commonly used to connect networks to the Internet.
Task Bar - A bar at the bottom of the screen in Windows that contains the Start button and a button for each program that is currently running. The taskbar can be used to switch from one task to another.It can also be dragged around with the mouse and adjusted in size.
Terrabyte - 1000 gigabytes.
Text File - A file that contains only textual characters, with no graphical information, video, sound clips, etc.
TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol) A language governing the communication between all computers on the internet. TCP/IP is a set of instructions that dictates how packets are passed over multiple computer networks. Also included is packet error checking to insure that they arrive at their destination in the right order.

Telnet - Telnet refers to a method of connecting to a server over the Internet or a network. Usually this is done using a Telnet client.
Thin Client - A simple client machine or program that performs very little processing.In this client/server arrangement, most of the application processing is done in the (fat) server. For example, a thin client may supply only the graphical interface.The advantage of a thin client is simpler hardware and simpler maintenance; the maintenance for applications is done on the server.
Thread (Message Thread) A group of Internet Forum or BBS messages and replies linked and sorted by topic.
Time Limiting Software - Software that allows time limits to be set for access to the Internet or software programs such as games.
